
FAST Campaign 2008
Speechmatters - Part of The Stroke Association recently ran a pilot FAST campaign in partnership with the South Eastern Health & Social Services Trust 'Stroke Services Team' and Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke. The FAST campaign aimed to raise awareness of the signs & symptoms of stroke in the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust area which ran from 2nd - 15th June 2008.
The pilot campaign called the 'Stroke is a Medical Emergency' (FAST) Campaign included billboard and bus shelter advertising, radio adverts and a press campaign to target the general public.
The campaigns key message will be to highlight the signs and symptoms of stroke using the acronym FAST.

Research has shown that the Face, Arm, Speech Test (FAST) has been highly successful in correctly diagnosing a stroke.
